ExpressionEngine 2.0 & CodeIgniter

no longer is ExpressionEngine limited to interacting with extensions or modules. No, with CodeIgniter entire applications can interact with your ExpressionEngine install.

That is very very exciting news. Surely that sneaky little tid-bit is one of the most important parts of this new launch?

I’d expect to see some serious applications getting built for EE now, none of this bolting on existing apps in separate frameworks nonsense (especially if that other app is Magento – continuing my love hate relationship with that bastard.)

With CodeIgniter’s Shopping Cart Class I would expect to see some pretty nifty ecommerce apps being developed.
